The Ahn'rathi Sisters
The Ahn'rathi are an ancient coven, currently composed of three Fell Tieflings and a Lolth-Sworn drow that comes and goes between the Underdark and their halls in the Shadowfell.
- Their craft revolves around thread and fabric imbued with wraith essence, although their research on base materials led them to require using the souls of living beings, resuming millennia-old tradition that they had left behind due to how impractical the process was.
- Her research journal describes the process; their tools of the trade are fluorite shards mined from the Underdark and brought by the Drow as part of their arrangement, infernal needles, and a spinner wheel crafted specifically for them.
- All three sisters are closely bound to the Far Realms, normally communing with aberrations beyond the rifts.
- Yvendria, Tishi’ya and Jiiyira know Deep Speech, it sounds akin to Shath'yar, making it more readable in general, it sounds guttural, chittering and droning. A mortal will have a clearer sound than an aberration's cacophony of whispers. It's taught from generation to generation of soulweavers. Sample: "Qam oou awghtatsii, on'ma iilzarq shhr'qa.
- The language is mostly used for communication between them and the aberrations; or spellcasting psychic | shadow spells.
- All three sisters look alike from a first glance, their faces may differ and their horns may be shaped differently but their skin color is a similar hue of cold ashen gray, their hoods' shade covers their faces for the most part but their glowing green eyes.
- The aberrant magic coursing within them is apparent in two forms, their irises and their chest. For the most part the chest area won't show the green glow through the skin unless they draw upon their fell heritage.
The wretched craft of soulweaving
One of few "Tiefling" descendants of a lengthy bloodline of aberrations, namely Maws of Acamar.
- Closely bound to the Shadowfell and the Far Realms due to her heritage, a coven ancient and mostly secret, untouched by the passing of time.
- Resistant to Shadow and Necrotic damage.
- Cunning and Fiendish, she'll generally withhold details of her motivations to people she has yet to trust and will use deceit at every turn possible to gain the upper hand. She cares not about their station in the grand scheme of things and has a very arrogant outlook in general.
- While she's not above murder, she prefers not to dirt her hands. A vast majority of her encounters are solved with trickery and persuasion. Most of her enemies fell to their own blades after a little gentle push towards the darkness.
- Somewhere in her journey after her illithid abduction, she stumbled across a crimson ring with seven tear-shaped ruby stones. Ever since that day, she's been having horrid cravings she does not understand and fears thoroughly as she loses control of her actions during her sleep, which made her develop hypnophobia.
- Her hands are permanently singed by the energies she weaves for spells, the burn spreads to her forearms. Upon closer inspection, tiny speckles can be seen on the skin of her hands, they also seem to not reflect light.
- Appropriated power from an abyssal entity rather than serving a demonic one. As such, the enslaved abyssal resides within a crowded soul flask, and its power is funnelled from it.
- The flask can mutter phrases and insight, as the entity within is conscious of its surroundings.
- Part of her pact with this entity was to enslave powerful souls within the accursed flask, unfortunately, the contract had an exploitable loophole.
